The Cross-Functional Process Sprint

A Private 90-Day Virtual Engagement Featuring Six 2-Hour Working Sessions to Map Cross-Functional Workflows, Eliminate Friction, and Strengthen Execution.

Most process documentation initiatives fail because they rely on executive homework or front-line reminders. Daily firefighting wins, maps never get drawn, and operational gaps remain wide open.

We don’t give your team homework. We do the work together – live.

Twice per month, your cross-functional team joins me for a dedicated, highly facilitated two-hour virtual working session. Together, we examine how work actually moves through your business, map the workflow live, and implement practical improvements to critical execution bottlenecks.

👥 Who participates in the Sprint?

The Sprint brings together the people who lead, manage, and perform the work so the workflow reflects operational reality:

  • The Leader (Owner/CEO/COO): Sets strategic priorities and approves workflow and ownership changes.
  • The Department Heads: Clarify responsibilities and strengthen cross-functional handoffs.
  • The Front-Line Operators: Share the day-to-day reality of how the work is performed.

⏱️ How the 2-Hour Structure Breaks Down

A 2-hour block is the operational sweet spot. It provides enough time to break through departmental silos without causing workshop fatigue.

Minutes 01 – 30: Workflow Focus & Alignment
We define the workflow area for the session, confirm where it begins and ends, and identify the most important execution gaps requiring attention.
Minutes 31 – 90: Live Collaborative Mapping
Using visual tools, we build a real-time flowchart of your current workflow. We map reality—what actually happens, not what is supposed to happen.
Minutes 91 – 120: Friction Triage
We improve broken or unclear steps, assign clear ownership, and define the action plan for the next 14 days.

🚀 What Your Business Walks Away With

By the end of the 90-day engagement, your team will have greater clarity around the workflows addressed during the Sprint, including:

  • Validates Process Flowcharts: Clear visual maps reflecting how work actually moves across the participating roles and departments.
  • Clear Roles and Ownership: Documented responsibility for critical steps, decisions, approvals, and handoffs.
  • Stronger Cross-Functional Handoffs : Agreed-upon expectations for how work moves from one person or department to another.
  • Prioritized Process Improvements : Practical changes identified and implemented during the mapping sessions, supported by focused 14-day action plans.
  • Direct Principal Consultant Support: All six working sessions are personally facilitated by Errol Allen.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this a consulting engagement or a training course?

A: This is a private, focused consulting engagement—not a training course. During each live virtual working session, I facilitate your team as we map actual workflows, clarify ownership, strengthen handoffs, and implement practical process improvements.

Q: Why should department heads and front-line team members participate?

A: Leaders often understand how the workflow is intended to operate, while the people performing the work understand what actually happens each day. Bringing both perspectives together helps the team identify gaps, clarify responsibilities, and create a workflow everyone understands.

Q: What software or mapping tools do we need to buy?

A: None. Sessions are conducted through Zoom, and I use Visio to build the process flowcharts live. Your team focuses on explaining how the work is performed; I facilitate the discussion and handle the process mapping.
